life thru the lens 5:52... january in review

It is a little hard to believe we are one month down in 2015 already. This month was a full one for us with definite highs and lows. Some of my favorites:

~The sunsets.

~Working on new photography skills.

~Meeting new photographers and being inspired by their work.

~Date days with my hubby. I missed those last year while he was gone for 8 months.

~My kids. I know people have hard times with their teens, but I can honestly say I am loving this age.

~I am doing two 365 challenges, one a read the Bible in 365, and a photography 365. You can see more of that on my Instagram feed.

January in Review

I follow a few people on Instagram, and in the photography cyber world, that have amazing bird shots. We have tiny little trees in our yard, with tons of construction as a background, so my hopes of capturing those shots are limited. But, my neighbors have a beautiful yard, and I was able to take this shot the other day. Not perfect, but I still really like it.

I bought a bouquet of tulips while I was grocery shopping last week. The only snow I have experienced, this season, was on our vacation to Colorado back in November. I long for snow. It is cathartic, and soothing, for me to look out my window at a world blanketed in white. But, alas, I am thinking snow is not in the works for our area of the world this year. So, I say bring on spring.

I am joining Texture Tuesday with this edit. I used Kim Klassen's Cora at soft light, with about a 50% opacity. I brushed off the tulip, and added Kim's brushes to finish it off.

I have to apologize to all my LTTL link-ups last week. Somehow I got it in my mind that I had visited you, and before I knew it the week flew by, and I realized my mistake. Sorry I was so late in stopping by your places.
